Thessaloniki’s Prefectural Administration and the Center of Culture, after initiative of the Prefecture’s Director, Mr Panagiotis Psomiadis, organise a great concert presenting the well-known composer Thanassis Polykandriotis in celebration of the World Day against narcotics.
The first part of the concert is dedicated to the great folk singer, Stelios Kazantzidis, who was loved more than any Greek. The second part is comprised of Thanassis Polykandriotis’ great hits throughout his career in folk music starting in the 70’s and still unfolding.
The singers are accompanied by the musical ensemble “OI EPOMENOI”, comprised of Thanassis Polykandriotis’ 40 bouzoukia, well known for their appearance in the ATHENS 2008 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, as well as by a folk orchestra
An important presence is that of Vaso Kazantzidi, who will be honoured by the Prefecture’s Director, Mr Panagiotis Psomiadis, for Stelios Kazantzidis’ offer to the Greek music scene.
The concert revenue will be offered to “ANADISI”, in order to strengthen the open therapeutical program for teenagers’ rehabilitation , to the «OASIS» institution of support to the addicted, as well as to the «Psycology Center of North Greece» in contribution to their therapeutical program.
