Concert dedicated to Mikis Theodorakis
On Monday, June 18, 2018, at 8.30 pm, Thanasis Polykandriotis together with professors and students of the Athens Conservatoire will give a unique concert at the Hall of Aris Garoufalis, with free admission.
Thanasis Polykandriotis, Head of the department of folk music, bouzouki and related folk instruments of the Athens Conservatoire, will accompany his students to the annual exam concert. Together with his collaborators and professors of the Conservatoire

Nikos Kainourgios, guitar Spyros Glenis, percussion
Lena Alkaiou, Katerina Dinou, Fotis Theodoridis, Christina Michalaki, Alexandros Psomopoulos and the composer will perform songs by Mikis Theodorakis who is a graduate of the Athens Conservatory, thus honoring the genuine good Greek song.
The concert will be prefaced by Dimitris Stathakopoulos, Dr. Sociology of History of Panteion University, Diploma in Byzantine Music – Musicologist
In the first part, the students and their teacher will show the public the philosophy of Folk Harmony on which all our folk music tradition is based. They are excerpts from the book of Thanasis Polykandriotis Folk Harmony.
Right after that, the students will play and sing four Greek songs.
